Carburo de calcio — granulometría 50/80 mm
Material selected for oxyacetylene processes.
Calcium carbide (CaC₂) is a solid chemical compound with a grayish or brown appearance, used primarily to generate acetylene gas through its controlled reaction with water. The acetylene produced is used in oxyacetylene processes that require a high-temperature flame for welding, cutting, heating, and other industrial applications.
Welding of ferrous metals
Beveling and preparation of materials
Industrial processes requiring an oxyacetylene flame
295–300 liters of acetylene gas per kilogram of carbide consumed, under standard pressure and temperature conditions.
50-kg or 100-kg metal drums
Calcium carbide must be kept protected from moisture, as it reacts with water to produce acetylene gas, which is flammable.
Classification: UN 4.3 — Substances that, in contact with water, emit flammable gases.
It is recommended to store the product:
- In airtight metal drums.
- In dry, well-ventilated areas.
- Protected from moisture and contact with water.
- Away from ignition sources and other hazards.
